A marathon of Father’s Day-related movies is playing today. My TV is on in the background as I sit at my dining room table working on a paper. From a 1970 movie titled “I Never Sang for my Father,” I heard actor Gene Hackman’s voice say “death ends a life, but not the relationship. We struggle on toward a resolution. When I hear the word father, it matters.”
I sit today, this Father’s Day, remembering my own father who no longer walks this earth. He was a wonderful caregiver, serving others as pastor, counselor, mentor, friend, husband, and dad. And he still matters, as do you, those of you who are fathers.
And so today I celebrate with gratitude my dad, and I celebrate with you, fathers and caregivers who matter.

I was browsing blogs on caregiving and came across this one. I really did not have a comment until I read the About page.
Earlier this year I took some time off my job to travel from Atlanta to Nashville to see about my mother who was in Baptist Hospital and to take care of Mom’s elderly sister while Mom was in the hospital.
I just want to give a shout-out to the staff at Baptist Hospital who took good care of my mom. They were friendly and attentive and seemed genuinely concerned about her condition. – caregiving at its fines.
    Thank you
