Journal of Sacred Work

Caregivers have superpowers! Radical Loving Care illuminates the divine truth that caregiving is not just a job. It is Sacred Work.

About

Thanks to you who come here
each day. Whether or not you comment,
I am grateful for the fact that, together,

we have created a space where
we join, unseen, to
share some of what we wonder.

Thank you for coming to this place where,
we commune
through this odd area, connecting
with words & beyond.

We are not strangers, but caregivers

who know the day/night needs of others.

What is it,
today, that weighs upon your heart?

In this sacred space, I fill with gratitude. When someone risks sharing from the deeper places of the heart, I suddenly feel my own heart beating. Sometimes when I share, my own heart skips a beat, or increases it’s tempo in vulnerability, but mostly it is a light feeling of expansiveness as Love ripples out into this universe. I appreciate this blessing today.
What weighs heavy on my heart? The many ways I contract in on myself with restrictive thought patterns. If my thoughts create my reality then I must take great care to water them ever so lovingly.
(I thought the first version of your poem was (even more) wonderful.)

I do come here often. I never comment but, since you mentioned it, you should know that it means a lot to have this journal as a resource. It helps to keep me connected with the many reasons why I do what I do, and it provides me with support and encouragement. Thank you.

Thank you for creating this space and your diligence in posting something everyday. My heart is heavy when I feel I’ve let someone down or maybe missed an opportunity to be a loving presence. It is heavy when I miss my parents and my sister and my brother. It is heavy thinking of my oldest daughter leaving home in a few months. It is heavy when I know of people in my workplace who are hurting because of organizational change. It hurts for the many people in our world who never encounter another loving spirit. So many more things weigh on my heart and spirit. Yet in the midst of that, I am grateful and hopeful and remain as committed as I can to moving through all of this and helping to make a better reality for myself and others.

This is a place of refuge where ones heart can be open. When I come here I read, reflect and meditate on what was written and the comments. It has been a wonderful source of inspiration and an eye opening experince to read what other people are going through or what your words have meant to them. My daughter comments on this site and I know that it has been a great resource for her to express her inner most feeling and her relationship with GOD and others.

My older, ailing parents are weighing heavy on my heart. I like Pearl, am not a frequent poster, but an almost daily visitor. Thank you for acknowledging the silent participators. We may not comment, but we do carry your message forward.
