   She Sweeps with Many Colored Brooms

SHE sweeps with many-colored brooms,
And leaves the shreds behind;
Oh, housewife in the evening west,
Come back, and dust the pond!

You dropped a purple ravelling in,
You dropped an amber thread;
And now you ’ve littered all the East
With duds of emerald!

And still she plies her spotted brooms,
And still the aprons fly,
Till brooms fade softly into stars—
And then I come away.

    The combination of your watercolor with Emily Dickinson’s poem is gorgeous, Liz. Together, they are a holy gift for us all.

    With thankful hearts as we see the beauty that surrounds, the daily sunsets that we have, gives us different color combination for such a short passing time, makes me wanting for more… what a wonderment an awesome feeling we can enjoy only if we seize the moment. Liz, yours is pretty in yellow so true, leaving gorgeous reflections of hues, captured in your expressed art while others and mine will be part of our minds, treasured gifts too.

    The arrival of fall is filled with feelings of cozying up on the couch with a good book, the scent of pumpkin pie, and roasted meats. Feeling chilly and getting out that favorite sweater. I am grateful for these changes of the seasons, they ground me here on this planet.
    Thanks Liz for the sweet poem and the amazing water color. Is it possible to post images on this? I want to share a photo of the Goddess my friends and I just finished in my garden. She is made of Cobb and a walnut tree trunk, and she stands in the center of a medicine wheel.

    Here we are down under in a different type of beauty – filled with the coulour of joy and gratitude for the Canonisaiton of our first Saint – Mary of the Cross MacKillop. Colour swept across our great nation, New Zealand, Peru, Scotland, Ireland and of course Rome when Mary was proclaimed Saint Mary. Our colours are of Spring, new life bursting forth all around us. Thank you Liz for your beautiful water colour – yes, She does sweep with magnificent colour.
