A GREAT NEED
Out
Of a great need
We are holding hands
And climbing.
Not loving is letting go.
Listen,
The terrain around here
Is
Far too
Dangerous for
that.

When the terrain is dark and dangerous I will not let go, hold my hand, and I yours.

In a stunning class in my Master’s program, we watched the movie you highlight. The professor’s main goal throughout the course was to challenge us to see the interconnectedness of systems, how science, art, politics, love cannot really be mapped out in our one dimensional thinking. So if I try to answer “what is love’s secret”, my first response is that I will spend the rest of my life trying to find the answer to the question and that journey is what makes my life meaningful. For the secret lies in the depths of each of us and our connection to the universe. In the book “The Alchemist” we are on a journey to connect with the Soul of the World. Every thing in the universe understands this language innately. It is only humankind that has trouble. Our ego and self preservation prevent us from fully being a part of that great love.

I am curious to watch this movie now. I appreciate your insights Karen.
Here are a few thoughts on today’s HeartWalk…
Love delights in surprise, seeks discovery in others, catches one unaware, shifts minds view, opens sealed passages, expansive in colors of spontaneous, Love.
I hope the conversation continues,
and that others will join in.

The description by Karen makes me also want to see this movie.
What is Love’s Secret? I don’t know, I wish I did. My family is my first thought though, without them there would be such a void in my life.

Birds initially had no desire to fly.
What really happened was this:
God once sat close to them playing music.
When he left
They missed Him so much
Their great longing sprouted wings,
Needing to search the
Sky.

BETWEEN OUR POLES
Who
Can I tell
The secrets of love?
Who has not confined their life
To a padded cell?
Look at
The nature of a river.
It’s size, strength, and ability to give
Are often gauged by its width
And current.
God
Too moves between our poles, our depth.
He flows and gathers power between
Our heart’s range of
Forgiveness and
Compassion.
Who
Can I tell,
Who can Hafiz tell tonight
All the secrets of
Love?
