Caregivers have superpowers! Radical Loving Care illuminates the divine truth that caregiving is not just a job. It is Sacred Work.

About

These are our traditional, end-of-the week, open forum days. In addition, I’d like to ask that you offer prayers for one of our most dedicated contributors, Liz Wessel and her family. Liz advises that she will be away for the next several days helping care for her dear brother, John. John is experiencing life threatening illness and we send our love to him, Liz and all those dear to them.

Liz, I too wonder if there is really any difference between the giving and receiving, after reading your post from yesterday. My feelings are telling me that the answer would most often be “no”. To me they are both gifts that a person can experience. They are in my heart reciprocal in nature. When I give, I always seem to get something in return. That something could be as simple as a hug, a written or verbal acknowledgement or support. When I have received something, I often have already given and or I may do any one of the things listed above. Either way, I believe that my soul and my heart are replenished each time I encounter or participate in any one of these gifts.
To you Liz and your family I send my prayers for a safe trip and ask that God be with you all to help support you on this journey with the challenges that are sure to become reality in caring for your brother. Find time to nourish your heart and soul for the difficult times ahead. This type of love and caring are never easy. You bring a shining light, of knowledge and love to your brother that I am sure he is very grateful for. I wish him comfort and peace.
