Healing Touch

May we console those who are
exhausted,

inhibited or uncertain.

Help us to increase our
capacity

to listen and respond to one
another.

May we speak words of
encouragement,

recognition and
affirmation.

Give us the grace to meet the lonely,
neglected,

ill, and misunderstood with
patience,

understanding and
acceptance.

May we be sources of
strength,

hope and inspiration for one
another.

Give us the strength to express our
concern and grief.

May we embrace every chance to help, to
heal-

touching not only individual
persons

but also a wounded
world.

I wish to acknowledge the quiet heroes, who working tireless in the shadows. To celebrate the caregivers who names we may never know. today, I dedicate this image and prayer to Denise Rosendahl, MA Director, Life Learning Center in Northern California. Denise is a caregiver who has inspired the lives of so many patients and caregivers with her uniquely beautiful healing ways. She is a person who really understands how mind, body, and spirit connect to our health and well being. She has artfully taught so many how to be healthy in communication, resolving conflict and changing life style behaviors to embrace healing. I send Denise blessings of healing Love as she leaves our Health System and I do so with deep heartfelt gratitude.

Liz, thank you for gently guiding us in the direction of healing and helping others. Lately I’ve been looking within, whining and only thinking of myself.
It’s important to remember others who are looking to share a moment, be heard, or perhaps have a chance to connect with someone.
Your mandala reminds me that with just a touch, we can make a difference, no matter what size.

Liz, thank you for your expressive mandala – knowing you in the way that I do, I can see your life reflected in those outstretched hands reaching out in compassion, empathy, understanding and healing as you embrace with tenderness those with whom you live and minister. The reflection also was ever so true – thank you for bringing it to our attention. Especially in this time of Lent as we enter into Holy Week – that time of the Church year when we see love outpoured completely, your reflection and mandala were pure gift. THANK YOU. May each of us be renewed as we pour out our life in healing and love. May Easter peace, hope and joy be yours.
