Journal of Sacred Work

Caregivers have superpowers! Radical Loving Care illuminates the divine truth that caregiving is not just a job. It is Sacred Work.

About

I wonder if you have any idea how important you are to those around you?

Today, you will encounter friends, co-workers, strangers, patients, perhaps family. Your impact on them is likely far greater than you think.

For you are that most sacred of beings – a caregiver. You are the one who offers Love to the ones who draw near to your being seeking help.

Your presence offers light. Your light illuminates healing and casts away the shadows that darken the world of those who lie, at this moment in pain.

God is present to you. As you let God flow through you, beauty appears.

Loving caregiving means that you are the one with the courage to plunge yourself into the wounds of another. You are the one who stands near to the pain of someone who needs your healing grace – now!

Thank you for being there – to help, to relieve the hurt, to Love.

On the cluttered fast paced stressful days, when a person does not feel that they are making a difference…….Thank you for reminding us that our sacred interactions, brief or not, DO make a difference !
Thank you, Erie, my dear Christian soldier friend for this reminder!! Right back at you!!

What a nice, refreshing reminder 🙂 And I agree with Ann’s comment above mine…our actions may seem insignificant at times…but really, every little bit counts. We see the end results, and sometimes they seem to show nothing. When some instances seem frustrating, and you feel like giving up, thank you for hanging in there. Thank you so much to all caregivers for your loving kindness and sense of compassion. Sometimes you may think you are just doing your job…well, it’s much more than that 😉

We’re blessed to be such important persons in our patient’s lives or to anyone’s… acceptance and enjoyment of this reality we feel the happiness of who we are and where we are in life, learning more and more to love others, expectantly we get to where we wanna be.

What a loving affirmation. I am doing my best to share this message with caregivers and letting them know it was especially written just for them.

As I was reflecting on ” You ” on my walk this morning…many faces ran accross my mind. I thought of the caregivers that I look forward to seeing, that I know I will have a sacred interaction with. I also thought of caregivers that I will not, either due to a broken relationship or those that are always too busy to take the time for this, or those that just don’t get it. My thoughts then flooded with all the faces of patients lying in a bed at their home or in a hospital or nursing home, awaiting a face at THEIR doorway, or awaiting a voice on the phone..awaiting a encounter with a care giver.
I am sure that that patient is praying that TODAY the caregiver that they have will be a Sacred Encounter. Today I pray that all caregivers will turn their light on and let their Love shine !!!!

What a wonderful way to start a weekend, and for me, vacation. We rush so through things that when we realize that it’s time to enjoy life – we receive your rich insight and blessing and then we remember the value that we hold in our loved ones, as well…

Special thanks to each of you for receiving this offering with such open hearts.
Ann, your comment offers such a lovely and searing insight into the loneliness so many feel – and the way we can ease that. Thank you for helping each of us envision the patient waiting for the caregiver to appear – for that Sacred Encounter.
