Journal of Sacred Work

Caregivers have superpowers! Radical Loving Care illuminates the divine truth that caregiving is not just a job. It is Sacred Work.

About

"God says, I don't have anyone else but you." Bishop Desmond Tutu

There are millions of movies out there – not just in theaters but on television and, if you prefer, on your computer or i-Pad. There is one film out now that is more likely to change your life for the better than any other I've seen in recent years. It is called "I Am."

As Tom Shadyac, the creator, says, "We started out by making a movie about what was wrong with the world and ended up making a movie about what was right."

For caregivers, faced with tragedy every day, it may have become hard to focus on the good that is not only around us, but in us. I am among those who have often thought more about the horrors in the world than its joys.  After seeing this film, I feel different.

The movie trailer doesn't do this film justice. But, perhaps it will trigger enough interest in you so that you will take a couple hours out of your life to watch a film about the magic of God's Love. As Bishop Tutu reminds us God has no one else but each of us – and us together.

The link to the trailer is below (NOTE that the clip may begin with a five second commercial)

Although I’ve just watched this brief introduction to this film, so much resonates with my spiritual beliefs and longing to connect with others in a life-giving way.
I can relate to what the film shared about how we really do make a difference on an individual level. Was it Mother Teresa who said something like, if you want peace in the world it must begin within.
Erie, thanks for recommending this marvelous film. It is one I must see, 😉

    I AM
    I was regretting the past
    and fearing the future.
    Suddenly my Lord was speaking:
    “My name is I AM”
    He paused.
    I waited. He continued,
“When you live in the past
    with its mistakes and regrets,
it is hard. I am not there.
My name is not I WAS.
When you live in the future,
    with its problems and fears,
it is hard. I am not there.
My name is not I WILL BE.
When you live in this moment
it is not hard. I am here,
    My name is I AM.”

He always makes me feel His Love… is there anything that I wouldn’t do for Him too?
Rev. Erie thank you for introducing “I Am”… seeing the magic of God’s love will be worth my time.
I am sharing this beautiful song that resonates what I feel. By Bob Dylan, sang by Adele.

LYRICS: “Make You Feel My Love”
When the rain is blowing in your face,
and the whole world is on your case,
I could offer you a warm embrace
to make you feel my love.
When the evening shadows and the stars appear,
and there is no one there to dry your tears,
I could hold you for a million years
to make you feel my love.
I know you haven’t made your mind up yet,
but I would never do you wrong.
I’ve known it from the moment that we met,
no doubt in my mind where you belong.
I’d go hungry; I’d go black and blue,
I’d go crawling down the avenue.
    No, there’s nothing that I wouldn’t do
to make you feel my love.
The storms are raging on the rolling sea
and on the highway of regret.
Though winds of change are throwing wild and free,
you ain’t seen nothing like me yet.
I could make you happy, make your dreams come true.
    Nothing that I wouldn’t do.
Go to the ends of the Earth for you,
to make you feel my love
