About

Splender

For I have seen a splendor past the sun.

I have heard a voice

beyond the listening stars.

A voice as luminous and as cool

as dew is near me,

though I saw not when it came.

And you are here,

sweet inexplicable you,

making miraculous music

of my name.

Liz thank you… Sr. Madaleva thank you… gently echo’s Leslie Baer’s song and passion. “If the Star Chose Me”. “If the star chose me to love the world, would I be ready, would I give my all that I can”….

I’m a bit dense when it comes to poetry…. However, would someone correct me if i’m wrong… I think he’s talking about someone he loves that just called him by name…

No, I think he’s talking about God calling him.

So much cannot be expressed in language…poetry comes close, but images are needed to bring the sacred into the world…This is a dance between language and image…thank you!

Remarkable how a single line – “For I have seen splendor past the sun,” can evoke so much. Even more evocative is your painting, Liz, the colors soaring like a sequoia – and then reaching past the stars
