Journal of Sacred Work

Caregivers have superpowers! Radical Loving Care illuminates the divine truth that caregiving is not just a job. It is Sacred Work.

About

The sun abandons us early in December's days. Amid the longer nights illuminatation rises indoors – the fireplace, the candle flames of Hanukkah, lights resting on the limbs of Christmas trees.

Woman against sun   We live for light.

Yes, we know that the illumination that matters comes from within. But, it sure does help the soul to experience light from without.

Walk into this picture. Join this woman in some soft moments.

The lighted fronds reach for her hands as her hair catches the sun. Even the camera's eye flares ovals of aqua, orange & green.

Soft moments have a lovely innocence. You can become like the rose in these words from sixteenth century poet Angelus Silesius: The Rose is without why/ She blooms because she blooms/ She does not care for herself/ Asks not if she is seen.

By yourself you can choose to let go . Your soul can find the rest you not only want but must have in order to be a pathway of light for others.

Give yourself the luxury of more soft moments. Let Love's light bloom within you.

Thank you for bringing us in on this soft moment with you. Your description is as lovely as is the experience. Your expressions are eloquent in tone and exquisite in meaning; Truth & Beauty.

the “soft moments” those are two words I will carry with me always now that you have implanted them into my consciousness. Thank you Erie for always sharing your authentic self with us to read and reflect upon their messages in our own lives

Thank you, Olivia. I searched around for a phrase that might bring comfort and finally hit on that one. So glad it has already brought you and other some moments of peace and that the same will be true when you pass it along. Thank you for your gifts of compassion.

This is so beautiful, Erie. You have brought a soft moment to my life by reminding me to “give yourself the luxury of more soft moments. Let Love’s light bloom within you.”
It’s so easy to become so busy “doing” that we forget that our greatest gift to others is simply “being” a conduit of love’s light.

“Soft moments”. I’m now looking for them and in the doing so, seeing them everywhere. Your posts are a weekly respite from the dive into dark that this time of year can bring. What a beautiful photograph. It’s as if the photographer has developed the soft moment and planted it in our eyes. Thank you.

Thank you Erie for encouraging caregivers to take some time to relax and enjoy some “soft moments” among their busy days of care giving at the same time to illuminate the Life they have within. There is an expression of tenderness in your illustration which you have done so beautifully. sbeng

Thank you, Suan. Your own tenderness shines forth in your comment – and no doubt in your caregiving as well. What a gift you are.
