Perplexing and fascinating; to envision the unexpected. We are challenged to see perhaps as a little child would with new eyes, something for the first time…and although we would not expect to see grand fish sailing in the sky, we see they are the bearers of mystery and the delight of metaphor.
The day to day concerns of life are unreal from a metaphysical perspective, yet if we drop beneath the surface we may discover a deeper reality and truth.
This image can be confounding or whimsical if viewed at a glance but I find I enjoy the experience more as I explore the possibilities. Thank you, Erie

(I wrote this to Liz earlier this year) I have a problem with time. I know I have something to do and start the prep for it. But something interferes and the task starts to get delayed. Then another project start and another delay until an avalanche of good intentions gets snowballed down the hill. And where to start again. Which of the delayed projects gets priority again. Sometime stagnation seems a better way when time starts to take over my thinking. Slowly though I have started to crawl back into mindfulness.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn’t go away.
Philip K. Dick
The illustration immediately made me think of the movie “Big Fish.” A wonderful film (in my humble opinion) that talks about how small consequences/fish/relationships/time/reality expand when released from artificial constraints. ”That was my father’s final joke, I guess. The man tells his stories so many times that he becomes the stories. They live on after him. And in that way, he becomes immortal.”
“They say when you meet the love of your life, time stops. And that’s true. What they don’t tell you, is that once time starts again, it moves extra fast to catch up.”
From Wikipedia – (Rollo) “May suggests that the only way to remedy the cynical ideas that characterize our times is to rediscover the importance of caring for another..”
